Team

Meet our SaltiSweet team.

Good food should come from good folks, and we fancy ourselves to be a pretty great group. We’re few but mighty for now, but we’re gearing up to grow, so check back for the newest additions to the SaltiSweet team.

Baseball was this all American boy’s passion. Training, teamwork, dirt, sweat and sliding into home while friends and family cheered from the bleachers. Best of all, win or lose, we all gathered at the local summertime ice cream shop where I learned that ice cream is a universal language speaking in smiles, and togetherness.

Growing up just down the road from the chocolate mecca of Hershey, Pennsylvania; sweet treats and memories of childhood inspired my twin brother Kevin and I to create the RockiRoll. My Grandfather, Harry Stoner, was the inspiration for me in starting the SaltiSweet dream.  He was an entrepreneur and visionary who thrived on building businesses that made people happy. He owned and operated Willow Mill Amusement Park, a speedway and a bowling alley where families could gather and enjoy sweet ice cream treats.

My team of partners and I are focused on building the SaltiSweet brand around creating unique products that inspire people to gather and enjoy smiles and treats.

Journeyman Left Wing…. Started decades long career with Blue Line Hockey Club in Philadelphia…. Favorite teams included the Canadians, Blackhawks, and Broad Street Bullies …  After 10-0 blowout in Hershey (as goalie), switched to forward…. Earned only career hat trick against Cooksville (Canada)…. Once traded for a bag of pucks and two water bottles….. Passion for ice cream developed at the rink as post-game treat for “trying your best”, a philosophy carried forward to SaltiSweet.

It gets in your blood. Once you go over the bar you want to do it again—only higher. Same thing with SaltiSweet Ice Cream Factory. What I learned from my Pole Vaulting Coach (Mike McKay) while attending high school in Bloomington Minnesota, is the life lesson and key to a successful vault—“you have to go forward before you can go higher.” “All the work is down on the ground—once you are in the air hold on and enjoy the ride”. I apply this life lesson to my work at SaltiSweet Ice Cream Factory on a daily basis. I also try not to land on my head.
